Although boxing has always been extremely popular, combat sports have only recently gained a foothold in America in the last couple of decades. With the unbanning of mixed martial arts and the creation of new iconic promotions like Triller, combat sports have been thrust more into the spotlight. With this newfound glory, the industry has seen the development and growth of many superstars over the past few years.

It takes a special kind of individual to step into a ring, cage, or arena and battle it out with the intensity to do physical harm to the human being standing across from them. It goes without saying, that such an attitude is followed by controversy and stigmata. Some of the superstars have certainly lived up to or surpassed their reputations outside of the battle.

Ronda Rousey

It was probably weird enough for many sports enthusiasts to see combat sports mentioned in such regard. To make things even more ironic, some of the industry’s most recognized stars over the last couple of decades aren’t just men. That’s right, whether you are a combat sports enthusiast or not, you’ve likely heard the name, Ronda Rousey. Maybe you’ve seen her on The Today’s Show. Perhaps you see her in the WWE ring.

Wherever Ronda goes, people follow. It’s only natural to follow beautiful women, but a beautiful woman who can nearly kick any man’s butt. That is truly something special. Rousey started building her stellar reputation in 2008 competing in judo. It was just a short jump from there to the MMA promotion Strikeforce. When she started building her recognition, it was only a matter of time before the godfather of MMA, Dana White, swept her up, brought her into the UFC, and turned her into a veritable combat goddess.

She went undefeated for a long time, crushing opponents in just a mere matter of seconds. Unfortunately, her career fluttered after her first embarrassing defeat to former female boxing champion Holly Holmes. Rousey changed the industry more than any other athlete could have even dreamed of.

Muhammad Ali

Mentioning fight sports without even slightly mentioning Muhammad Ali would be like talking about online gambling without mentioning เว็บตรง. It would be a crime to not mention the biggest name in boxing history. Since he’s been around for such a long time, most fans already know all about this athlete’s iconic time in and out of the ring. He has always been known as a uniquely different individual with a poetic language that was ahead of his time.

He has a brashness and overbearing confidence that even the likes of Connor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather couldn’t match. He oftentimes beat his opponents with his silver tongue before they even stepped across from him. Along with his contributions to the race rights and persecutions of the period, Ali is most notably for his superb and lightning-fast defensive abilities.

Being backed into a corner where other fighters might be distraught and lost, Ali dodges 20 of his opponent’s strikes to only make him punch himself out. To even further add to this impressive display, Ali had his hands down the entire time. He went undefeated for 31 straight bouts before suffering defeat to Joe Frazier.

The Notorious One

It takes a special individual with a special mind to lay everything on the line against another human being. Unfortunately, trouble and fights follow these individuals wherever they go. While this might not always be true of every combat athlete, it cannot be understated with the Notorious One. Connor blew the combat world up with his brash Dublin attitude and unstoppable Irish fighting spirit.

There’s a documentary of his career and it couldn’t play out in a more perfect stream. From low-paying wages to welfare and working his way to the top, this trash-spewing Irish superstar rose, perhaps, faster to the top than any other combatant.

His mouth was matched with his impeccable in-ring skill. This was one of the aspects that garnered him such a high following. He was like a modern-day Muhammad Ali with his silver tongue and fight ability.
