来自地球另端的飞鸿(二) Qin Xu An,
Yes, I can see you are a real DongFangDang who has the shoulder not only being a responsible, but also an accountable man and grandson. I am proud to have you in XXXXX’s family.
Boy, this US $ 7,500 per month is indeed very expensive, to any standard. Thank God it will be free after two months. I am glad you found this fantastic deal from somewhere. Hope it works for your grandma. Keep me posted.
Yes, this global economic recession is affecting everybody. My 401k has become 201k and heading toward 101k, fast. Be aware of the fact that US is again the originator for all this nonsense. It is not for the first time as far as I could remember and personally had experience with. Remember in early 1980s? Japan was an emerging number 1 super economic power then, pompous enough coming over to US and purchased 20% of US real estates, including the Rockefeller Center ? Then in 1987, US initiated a global economic recession which annihilated Japan ’s economic supremacy overnight and put Japan ’s economy dormant for 10 years. Now the same Mother of Capitalism created this mess that wiped out a whole bunch of Japanese senior citizens’ life savings for retirement. East and West have been and will always be on the opposing side. A case of point: Who have been encouraging Japanese buying securities from Lehman Brothers all these years? Why US did not bail out Lehman Brothers this time like she did Bank of America and Citi Corp? Bank of America bought Merrill Lynch and now is crying for more financial helps from Congress. Japan rose after WWII with the help of Uncle Sam having only one purpose in mind that is to fend off communists, first from USSR then from PRC. Americans never liked Japs. Americans only care for Western Europeans. Both came from the same root of Mother Capitalism. You wait and see; US will only work with Western Europeans to resolve this mess, not with Eastern ones, Russia , Japan , PRC, or other sorry ass.
It is forecasted that European Union will come out of this economic recession first, at the expense of Eastern Europeans I would think. US will be the next in 2010, then our China being the third one. It is even forecasted that Japan will be the fifth one to revive with a leftover that is barely enough to compete with India . The Rising Sun is down, irregardless of Toyota ’s replacing GM being the biggest car manufacturer in the world. The Rising China will be the favorite fair-hairs this time that everybody would like to find a way to suck it up to. I feel so proud on one hand. On the other hand I can’t help feeling so sad for those rising “slaves”; they are our brothers and sisters. $1 profit made for every DVD sold in US. Come on, for crying out loud.
I guess what I am saying here is that US is blessed enough to not have a war on its soil for over 100 years and is still in the position of attracting cream of the crop talented people from all over the world to help building its might. It reminds me of those bunches of poor people from Canton risking their lives in waves trying to flee to Hong Kong in 1978. China is rising alright, with 20 million or so party members being the only beneficiaries I can see, including one of my XXXXX from Beijing . China ’s stronger economic power will still be at the expense of its unlimited 1.3 billion resources, coolies. Who says life is fair?
One good news though is that Chief Party Secretary Hu is smarter than Japan this time, not interested in US real estates, only buying mineral mines and strategic crude oil from around the world. PRC is also planning to build 3 huge refineries in southern China and beef up her capacity for 10 major industries. I like it.
The imminent final result, of a recession if ever turning into a depression, will be War. Remember WWII? So, let’s shape up. Don’t put all our eggs in one basket for the time being.
Thank you for inviting us to Tokyo for a trip, my mom would love to. No offense, but I have to turn down the invitation for me. I must admit I am a pretty shallow guy to this respect. The civil war between KMT and PLA, a routine process that happened many many times during those 5000 years between dynasties, was an acceptable history to me. With my grandfather and father now gone, I would like to join PLA one day when I get to retire in PRC if they still care to take me at this age....this is One China as far as I am concerned. On the other hand, irregardless of what history said Japs came from Qin Dynasty and I believe that, I still have unsettled business with Japan . Nanjing massacre is still NOT acceptable to me. I don’t even care for their women. Boy, if what history book says was true, they must have picked up the ugliest 3000 each virgin boys and virgin girls back then.
I would trade for a Nanjing trip one day when our paths cross each other’s. I prefer plum blossom.
Have a safe trip and Best Wishes to your grandma,
XXXXXXX
