   Dear ambassador,

   I intend to attend the First Annual Conference of the Chinese Liberal Culture Movement which will be held in Melbourne from 24 November to 30 November, 2006. It is sponsored by Intellectual Freedom Association of China INC. I am so pleased and honored to attend this conference because this conference plays as an opening for people to understand the Chinese liberal writers and independent thinkers. The purpose for this conference is to promote the multi-cultuural development of Australia, to pass down the freedom spirit of the Chinese, and to spread the Chinese traditional culture. With the success of this conference, I believe it will create a phenomenon of free communication and academic study on various cultures.
   I am now applying for the visa to your country. To your requirements, I have prepared all the documents except the business permit from my employer. This meeting is a non-governmental event. It is not business, but individual interest. Anyhow, I have here the certificate of my employee identity and the leave permit from my working place. I hope they could be accepted. Thank you very much for your understanding and assistance. I will appreciate greatly if you could issue me the visa.

   Except for research and working, I have strong interest in the study of traditional Chinese culture, such as Tang Dynasty poems, Song Dynasty poems, Yuan Dynasty poems, Ming and Qing Dynasties’ operas and folk legends.    I am crazy about western traditional culture of Christianism and I study and the research of the ancient Greece civilization. I love to contribute my effort to the improvement of the combination of the east and west cultures.
   At rest-time, I love to write poems. Articles, spreading western ideas of freedom and spirit of reality.
